The more powerful motor has a longer running time: up to 60 miles on full electric mode, and even longer on pedal-assist mode. For exercise or health purposes, I prefer to pedal most of the time and only call upon the motor when needed to climb hills. This can be done by turning the throttle on the right side of the handlebars: the more it is turned, the more power is called upon as needed.
